“When we dream alone it is only a dream, but when many dream together it is the beginning of a new reality.”
Many children in Cameroon, where Malaria and the AIDS epidemic has left victims of all ages, growing up in poverty, they are exposed to poor sanitation, poor education and fewer household resources. As they grow up, they will have a lower chance to get a good job and a sufficient income in future to finance their families and provide them with a good standard on health, education and food. Their own children will suffer the same lack of resources, so the effect of poverty continues. The early childhood is a period of change and physiological development.
These little kids are the future of the nation. If they are not reaching their full potential, the whole country loses out.
That is why MOUNTAIN KIDS Orphanage was established in 2012 by a young energetic and visionary team of 4 Cameroonians and 1 German. We provide the orphans with full care facilities like good education, food, clothing, care and attention that these unfortunate children deserve. As soon as the MOUNTAIN KIDS children are above school age, we will support them by searching a suitable employer, who teaches them a trade of their choice such as Carpentry, Masonry, Hair Dressing, Dress Making, Computer, etc. or to support them by further studies.
We employ local Cameroonians, who have the same vision of humanitarian help. In future we also want to have volunteer staff from overseas, who can share their skills in assisting and training our children.
The Promotion of MOUNTAIN KIDS and the charity appeal is done mainly in Germany through our German cooperative partner foundation “WEGWAISEN e.V.”, which was found 2012. The name WEGWAISEN means translated giving the orphans a way into the future.
